Riddu Riđđu needs volunteers during the festival

Thanks to our amazing bunch of volunteers we are able to host the best festival in the world! This year is no exception as we need your help to make Riddu Riddu 2011 happen. In return you will receive a festival pass for free, as long as you work a minimum of 16 hours (depending on shifts), your happy to be part of the team and do your best!

Below you will find info on in which areas we need help so that you can choose what fit you best. Unfortunately we can not guarantee that you will work in your chosen area but we guarantee you that we will do our best to ensure you have an awesome festival experience as a volunteer at Riddu Riddu 2010. You have to be at least 16 years of age to volunteer in most areas, and 18 to work in Security. We do have some assignments for people under the age of 16 as well, so if you are under 16 and want to volunteer then that’s great!

About the different tasks

INTERPRETER (tolk):
We need some decent interpreters for seminars, openings and other events. We need your help in the course of several days but only for short periods at a time. Your language needs to be very good. Experience shows that we often need interpreters in languages as Russian, English, Sami and Portuguese.

SECURITY (sikkerhet):
Security is needed in many areas of the festival. Security’s main duty is to ensure that the festival audiences are having a good time. We need security staff for instance at the entrance, by the showers, and at night. You need to be at least 18 years of age.
 
SALES (salg):
It’s great if you have previous experience from working in a cashier but most importantly we want someone who is positive and outgoing, responsible and accurate when handling money.
 
INFORMATION (informajson):
This role suits an adult and preferably someone with previous knowledge about the festival. You are a happy and informative person who enjoys assisting others.
 
RIGGING (opprigg/nedrigg):
As part of the rigging staff, you rig up and/or rig down the festival area. Assignments will vary and you might have to fill in for other festival staff when they are on a break.  It’s an advantage if you’re a handyperson.
 
CHILDRENS’ FESTIVAL (Barnefestivalen):
As Riddu Riddu is a festival for the whole family, we even have our very own festival for the kids! At the children’s’ festival we need volunteers that can help out to rig up/down the children’s area and help during the children’s program. If you want to take part in giving the kids a nice festival experience then this is the area for you to volunteer.
 
ENVIRONMENT (Miljø):
Riddu Riđđu is an environmentally certified festival, and we pursue to keep it that way. The volunteers that work in the area of environment will help the festival audience to sort their trash right and contribute to keeping the festival area nice and tidy.   
 
CATERING:
Catering group contributes to both audiences, guests and workers get food in the stomach during the festival, and is therefore one of the most important areas during the festival. Here you are working with our people happy in the kitchen and the tasks are all in the handling of food, washing etc.

TRANSPORTATION (transport):
In the transport group, we need skilled drivers to ensure that our guests return safely to the festival. Valid driver's license is required.
 
 
ALL-ROUNDER (Alt mulig):
During the festival there is always a need for people to step in to do various tasks. As an all-rounder, you will become familiar with many, if not all, areas of the festival!  We always need people to help us with assignments that come up along the way. Are you able to contribute outside of the 16 hours that are compulsory for all volunteers? If so, then please write this down when registering yourself as volunteer.
