Angel Haze to play Riddu Riđđu 2017

Riddu Riđđu just announced their first artist for the 2017 line-up. The festival that is known for presenting a great deal of fierce female artists on their main stage will not disappoint this year either.  Angel Haze, one of the most talked about indigenous hip-hopers in the US, is ready to give the Riddu Riđđu audience refined hip hop.

Behind the artist name Angel Haze is the young rap talent Raykeea Wilson. She had her major breakthrough in 2012 with the EP «Reservation». Since then she has fascinated audience with brutal honesty, sharp lyrics and an exceptional rap technique.

Angel Haze is fluent in Tsalagi, one of the Cherokee dialects and has grown up with the culture on her mother’s side. She is also open about being «two-spirited» and is a role model for many in the LGBTQ movement. But first and foremost she is a musician, something she is very clear about.

Angel Haze has become a sought after collaborator for big pop stars. In the song «Battle Cry» that she recorded with Sia in 2013, the two artists give a clear message against child abuse and encourage youth to fight for what they believe in.

With her strong presence and impressive rap-phase Angel Haze is known to be a firework on stage. Festival director Karoline Trollvik says: «This is one of the coolest bookings we have done. Angel Haze is an incredible live artist, with fans all over the world. She is extremely cool, and a hundred percent herself. A complex artist that I hope will inspire many». 

Angel Haze has previously played Øyafestivalen and Stavernfestivalen in Norway. She has collaborated with other names like Rudimental, Ellie Golding, Stromae, and Tribe Called Red who visited Riddu Riđđu in 2014.
