Food availability at the festival

Sale of food on thursday 12 noon till 2 a.m. Barbeque on friday and saturday 12 noon till 2 a.m. Sale of food also on sunday from 12 noon till 6 p.m. The kiosk at the festival area has opened today, and it's open every day from 10 a.m.

Riddu Riđđu Indiville is opened

This year festival has introduced Riddu Riđđu Indiville - an indigenous village especially designed for families and the ones that hunger for more knowledge. The Childrens Festival is already up and going, and also today the courses begins. The Art Exhibition opens at 6 pm this afternoon. Tomorrow there will be three seminars and also a lot of physival activities. Also The Indigenous Filmprogram will begin tomorrow.

Nambiquara people Waihu ceremony

The Nambiquara people come from Matto Grosso in Brazil, and are this year’s guest people at the Riddu Riđđu festival. The Nambiquara are are one of the small tribal peoples of Brazil, numbering around 380 in the tribe. Their language is called Nambiquara language.

Urfilm 2006

This is the third year Riddu Riđđu presents a film program. Many of our filmmakers are going to be here this year. Special invited guests are Ernest Webb from Canada with his films about the Dab lyiyuu’s (the real ones): namely the Cree people. From far away comes Grant Saunders with films about the aborigines of Australia, and from Finland we have invited Hanno Hyvönen.
